Content ID claims, what to do?

You receive a “Content ID” claim on one of your uploaded videos on YouTube. It means that you probably used a content that is not yours, and whose owner is protected by the Content ID system that automatically detects copies uploaded by other users.
The content found on your video may be a small video clip, music, a sound effect … or just the whole video.
What to do in this case? First, do not panic, because there is nothing untoward in a “Content ID” claim, and usually it is not a source of negative impact on your YouTube channel.

Your action depends on the rules applied by the owner of embedded content in your video.
A) If his goal is to monetize its content, you have three choices:
1) Keep the video on your channel and do nothing if you agree that any advertising revenue will be paid to him. This choice is usually made by small channels looking to expand and have more content and subscribers.
2) Keep the video on your channel and negotiate with the owner to share in income or even a permanent partnership for other content put online its own. This choice is usually made by large channels that have a lot of subscribers, and can reach areas inaccessible to the same owner of the original content.
3) Challenge the claim if you are certain that this is an error, you have the use of such content authorization, or that the claimed content in the public domain.
4) Delete any video simply for reasons specific to you, or adjust in a way that it is no longer claimed.

B) The content owner decides to block the claimed content:
Your video is blocked, but without copyright strike on your channel, it is only visible to you, it is better to remove it from your Video Manager.

C) The owner opts for the rule of monitoring: it has the ability to track video statistics through its content management system without any requirements. The decision to make in this case up to you.

It should be noted that you, as the owner of the content, can change your mind at any time.
