The Copyright Match Tool, what is it?

You are content creators on YouTube, you face the problem of copying your videos and their discounts online illegally by third parties. The new service: The Copyright Match Tool will certainly be salvation for you.

Currently you are looking for the copies manually, which is very painful. Sometimes you do noticing the existence of copies of your videos on YouTube until months or years after their set lines on other channels. If you value being deleted then you send YouTube a takedown notice of copyright, which you legally committed.

Not being eligible for the program Content ID, so you remain powerless. It is in this context that YouTube has implemented the copyright match tool which creators will have access gradually.

The Copyright Match Tool, what is it?

It is a system that analyzes all the videos that are uploaded and detect those that are copies of existing content on YouTube. Manual search you are saved forever.

After copying detected, the correspondence will be reported to the author of the original video proposing the following options: 

—Do nothing and archive correspondence while reserving the right to take another action, the time required.

—Contact the channel who posted the video and show him the correspondence in order to reach a solution.

—To ask YouTube to take the video through a legal request that would result in a copyright strike for the channel who presented your online content. For this option you have two choices: 

1) Provide a period of seven days at this channel to remove the video itself; this past period, the removal will be done automatically by YouTube.

2) Require immediate withdrawal (with the possibility of causing a copyright strike)

How to access the Copyright Match Tool?

For channels that YouTube considers eligible to use this tool, a “Copyright” will be added to the left pane of the menu “YouTube Studio”. By clicking on the rubric a detailed table appears to contain: the title of the video, number of views, posting dates, channel name, the percentage of correspondence, surveys, and actions.

It is recalled that should not be too much abuse this tool if you are lucky enough to have it, as this will cause its deactivation by YouTube. Avoid claiming content that is not yours, simply. You will find more explanations here.
